Having recently celebrated five years in business, Perillo's Pizzeria is a hidden gem tucked away in North Salem.
The family owned business is led by Damiano Perillo, who makes his authentic Italian cuisine with one thing in mind – love. "People don't slow down and take time to enjoy their food anymore," Perillo said. "You should love what you eat, and my pizza is made with love."
The pizza life began early for Perillo, he said, when he was only 10 years old. Hailing from Italy, Perillo said he makes each dish with fresh ingredients and he never compromises on quality. "I've been making pizza for a while," he noted. "My real passion has always been as a cook and chef." While perfecting the pizza was the first thing he learned as a child, Perillo said he ran away from the pizza business in his late teens and early 20s, finding comfort in making other dishes.
