More often than not those trekking through Grand Central are doing so at a clip, racing to catch a train or eagerly waiting for one. Nevertheless, there are numerous places within the iconic walls of the terminal that make it a destination all its own. Beyond the celestial ceiling, the iconic clock, the mysterious catwalk, or the century’s old smoke stain, the list of shops and eateries are growing and drawing people in even if a train ride is not on the agenda.

And although the new year means resetting routines and dialing back the indulgences, there’s always a celebration around the corner. Sabatino Truffles recently opened it’s first U.S. store within the Grand Central Market, and for many foodies, that is reason enough to head to 42nd Street.
