A slice of Chicago-style deep dish pizza might sound appetizing, but driving nearly 600 miles to the Windy City isn’t feasible for most in the Twin City. By mid-November, Bristol residents will only have to take a drive to downtown Bristol for such a dining experience. The Angry Italian will open in the former Little Italy location at 16 6th St., according to owner Keith Yonker, who plans to open by Nov. 20.
Yonker, a native of Chicago, is looking forward to bringing a new food experience to the Mountain Empire.“We don’t load the pizza up with a bunch of stuff,” Yonker said. “With Chicago-style deep dish, we like to limit the pizza to three or four toppings — otherwise — it just ruins the pizza and you have too many flavors going on at one time.”
