Giuseppe’s Italian Restaurant will not be closing its doors at the end of the year. “The deal fell through,” Mike Misciagna, co-owner of the restaurant, said. “It happens.” Misciagna announced in August that the restaurant had been sold to the Stir Fry Group, the same company that owns the Stir Fry Restaurant and The Social in downtown Kingsport.
Giuseppe’s had been set to close on Dec. 29. The restaurant will still close, but it will only be temporarily. “We will probably take a week or so off to charge our batteries,” Misciagna said. “Just figure out what we will do next.” Brothers Mike and Ralph Misciagna co-own the restaurant and said in August they wanted to sell because of health and age.
