Mount Airy's newest high-end restaurant follows a trend among casinos across the country – adding branded, often chef-driven eateries. The casino just opened Bistecca by Il Mulino, an upscale Italian eatery, replacing Red's Steakhouse, named for founder Louis DeNaples' grandmother.
The competition is steep. The Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem offers 10 restaurants, including three by famed chef Emeril Lagasse as well as the Carnegie Deli. Mount Airy offers six with another one, a asian fusion theme, in the works.
