The latest addition to Birmingham's restaurant scene opened its doors at Wednesday, as Italian restaurant chain North Italia opened its first Alabama location at The Summit.

Executive chef Billy Sciacca, a 16-year veteran of the hospitality industry, will lead the kitchen at the new Birmingham location. Sciacca graduated from The Art Institute of Houston and has worked with the North Italia team for more than five years.
