Review: Italian restaurant on Hutchinson Island feels like a tribute to grandma

Kyle Greene has plunged headfirst into one of his newest ventures, an Italian restaurant named Nonna’s. But he’s an experienced swimmer, so he knows what to do. The name "Nonna" evokes an image of an Italian grandmother wearing a well-loved apron while stirring a huge pot of fragrant tomato sauce. But Kyle G’s inspiration was actually his Italian godparents, with whom he spent a lot of time growing up. Nonna’s feels like a tribute.

Once you walk in the door, you will see wood-backed stools against a butcher block bar, allowing those seated an appreciative view of the shiny, open kitchen. Old World-style paintings hang on the walls. There’s also an outdoor area where one can enjoy an aperitif in front of a fire pit.
