This past fall, the new chef at Sorrisi boldly announced that he wanted it to become "the premier Italian restaurant in South Florida." I love a good pronouncement. Six months after reading chef Jacob Perego's words inthe Sun Sentinel, we made our way to Seminole Casino Coconut Creek to check on the restaurant's progress.
At this point, I'd say Perego has partly succeeded, upping the ante at what is one of the most elegant casino restaurants in South Florida. The word "casino" is important here, because, given a chance, would a nonsmoker venture out to a smoke-filled casino for pasta and pizza?
