When Kristin and Justin Gilbert used to live on Sycamore Avenue 20-plus years ago, they'd walk up and down Frankfort Avenue and dream about where they might put a gelato shop. Now, that dream is coming true. The owners of Gelato Gilberto are opening a second location at 2240 Frankfort Ave. in July.
"We started thinking about a second location probably last August, feeling it might be time to expand," Kristin Gilbert said. "We realized we could roll production and our store into one location, so that's what we're doing, moving production [from Portland] into the new space. And we just found the perfect location."
