With origins that date all the way back to Palermo in Italy, Little Italy celebrated 40 years of doing business Saturday at its location off West Avenue near the intersection of Blanco. The Visocaro family opened the restaurant in San Antonio in 1983 after operating a pizzeria in New York.
Little Italy evokes plenty of history and ambiance with Dean Martin songs playing in the background. The restaurant walls are lined with old family photos and awards from local news outlets for serving some of the best Italian food in the city. The recipes created by Angelo and Paola Visocaro are still used to this day, as the restaurant is now run by their son Dominick Visocaro.
