What is a borgo or borghi?
But first, what is a borgo, or borghi (plural)? Borghi are beautiful little villages in Italy dating back to the middle ages. Some are fortified and perched on a hill, they could be by a lake, ensconced in a mountain range, or sitting by a river in a lush green valley.
