Emmanuel Sanarica is a young olive grower who decided to invest in his land by building a farm in Montemesola, in the province of Taranto, in an area threatened by xylella. The Sanarica family's passion for the olive tree has been handed down for four generations, in an area that has always been dedicated to the production of quality olives and oils.
Emmanuel has inherited from his grandparents the secrets of artisan production, becoming in turn an ambassador of ancient peasant knowledge. The flagship product is Ulivè Grand Cru, an extra virgin olive oil of the highest quality, contained in a precious casket. A concentrate of Puglia's olive growing tradition that has already received important recognition at international level.
"We have just won the award as the best oil in the world in the international Dubai Olive Oil Competition - Sanarica explains with satisfaction - and we are super proud of this award. It is a reward for those who, like us, every single day of the year, are committed to cultivating and caring for olive trees with love, respecting the earth and its natural cycle. We combine traditional and modern cultivation techniques, together with state-of-the-art milling to produce our top quality oil".
The company covers 80 hectares in the hills of the Murgia Tarantina, 200 meters above sea level. The microclimate of the area is positively influenced by the Mar Piccolo of Taranto, a few kilometers away and visible, with its intense blue color, from many slopes of the olive groves. "The mild climate and the strong influence of the sea make the aroma of our olives intense but delicate, giving a low level of acidity and a strong presence of polyphenols, perfect characteristics for the production of an oil with high organoleptic qualities".
Biodiversity is also a precious value: the olive groves are made up of many small plots of land which preserve 10 different varieties of olives. The selection of the olives that make up Ulivè Grand Cru is done plant by plant, selecting the varieties at the right time of ripeness, in order to give life to a unique blend, capable of enriching palates and enhancing dishes.
