Once again, Giovanni Ferrero, head of the most famous confectionery company in the world, is the richest man in Italy. The entrepreneur was crowned by Forbes Magazine in its annual ranking. His wealth amounts to 33.3 billion dollars, almost 6 billion more than a year ago.
But Leonardo Del Vecchio, patron of Exilor-Luxottica, is breathing down his neck, taking second place in the ranking with assets of 32.9 billion dollars and a growth of 8.2 billion in six years. In third place instead is Stefano Pessina, executive chairman of the multinational pharmacy company Walgreens Boots Alliance, with assets of $9.5 billion. In fourth place - before Silvio Berlusconi - is a woman - the richest woman in Italy - Massimiliana Landini Aleotti, owner of the pharmaceutical company Menarini.
So Ferrero is still growing, and has confirmed its position as one of the most solid Italian companies: it is no coincidence that it is also the company in which new Italian graduates want to work the most. The fruit of Giovanni Ferrero's personal growth goes hand in hand with that of the company, in a year in which Ferrero inaugurated its first plant in the United States and confirmed its status as one of the most famous Italian brands in the world.
