Sardinia is among the most popular destinations for foreigners wishing to buy a home in Italy for vacation. From the United States to Germany, in fact, requests for real estate by those living abroad are growing, and in the rankings of the increase in demand, the island is even in first place with a +73.87%. The data analysis was compiled by the international real estate portal Gate-away.com.
According to the numbers, in the June-August quarter of 2022, all provinces, with the exception of Cagliari, record strong growth numbers. Leading the ranking is South Sardinia, which marks a 112.26 percent progress in requests compared to last year. This is followed by Oristano with +78.46 percent, Sassari +78.27 percent (the most sought-after province with 69 percent of total requests) and Nuoro (+66.67 percent).
Leading the ranking of the most sought-after municipalities, however, is Badesi (in the province of Sassari), with requests amounting to 10.16 percent of the total, a growth-boom of +2860 percent compared to the same period last year.
Those who have fallen in love with these areas are in particular the Americans with requests equal to 24.5 percent of the total and a growth over the same period last year of +166 percent. They are followed by Germans (+18.46% of the total) and annual growth of 31%, Canadians (5.22%), French (7.21%) and British (6%).
On the front of the type of property sought, preferences focus on the villa (39.19% of the total). Then the apartment (21.7% of the total) and the single house (6.6%).
