The cloak of time that concealed them – not to mention the green grass that covered them – is gone at last, and the precious polychrome "fan-shaped" mosaics in [one of the] palaestrae of the Baths of Caracalla (Rome), dating back to the third century AD, have resumed their ancient luster thanks to the restoration work begun in 2015.
The project was superintended by Anna Borzomati and Marina Piranomonte and financed by Bulgari, the jewelry and luxury goods brand owned by LVMH Group with deep Roman roots (Greek-born Sotirios Boulgaris chose Rome as the site of his first jewelry store, in 1884).
