There are two Roman hotels in the top 15 best luxury hotels in the world. And one, the Bulgari Hotel in Rome, tops the list compiled by Luxury Travel Intelligence, the community of travel web super-experts that has been publishing these kinds of rankings for years. In addition to the Bulgari, the top 15 also includes the Six Sense Rome, in Piazza San Marcello, in seventh place.
The Bulgari Hotel, which opened last June, is located in the monumental Piazza Augusto Imperatore building, designed by Vittorio Ballio Morpurgo, built just before World War II and opened by Alcide De Gasperi in 1950. It offers 114 rooms and 120-square-meter suites, as well as the most luxurious 300-square-meter suite. In addition, a 20-meter indoor pool and a library open to non-hotel guests by reservation.
The Six Senses Rome, on the other hand, was sold a few months ago to the Statuto Group for 245 million euros. The property has 95 key rooms and suites managed by the Six Senses brand, of the IHG Hotel & Resorts Group.
In the ranking, behind Bulgari is Place Vendome in Paris, a boutique hotel with 15 suites. In third place again is Bulgari, with the new property opened in Tokyo between the 40th and 45th floors of the Yaesu skyscraper.
