The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, has sent the following message to the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden: “The celebration of the INDEPENDENCE DAY gives me the opportunity to send you, Mr President, and our Friend, the American people, the warmest congratulations on behalf of the Italian Republic, and my wishes for a bright future.
A few months ago, the 160th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations gave us the chance to think about the origins of the unique relationship between the United States and Italy, bonded by a deep-rooted friendship that heads towards the future. In addition to the large, hard-working community of Italian origin in your country, this relationship is based on a shared ideal heritage that defines our free, democratic societies, open to the contribution of citizens with different cultures, making them more dynamic."
