Although he was hospitalized, Pope Francis made a decision yesterday regarding an Italian hero who is little known abroad but deserves to be recognized and remembered, especially in these difficult times: Salvo D'Acquisto.
Pope Francis signed the document authorizing the Vatican's Dicastery for the Causes of Saints to issue the decree recognizing the "offering of life" of Salvo D'Acquisto, who was a devout Catholic: this act is to be considered a martyrdom. This opens the path toward beatification, which will take place in the coming weeks.
