Internationally-famous tourist destination, Ischia is pristine landscapes and cultural intrigue – not to mention a thermal spa hub – amidst a clear blue sea. With Holy Week around the corner, visitors have yet another reason to indulge in the splendor and charm of this island, with its ancient rites and special ambience.

In the Medieval village of Forio, Easter morning (April 20th) sees the Angel's Run along the town's main thoroughfare. The sacred tradition, organized by the Arch-confraternity of the Church of Santa Maria Visitapoveri, dates back to the 1600s.
The Angel's Run, or Corsa dell'Angelo, re-enacts the meeting between the Virgin and the Risen Christ, accompanied by St. John the Apostle and by the Angel.
