The collective sound of millions of corks popping draws near, signaling that it must be New Year’s Eve once again. With sparkling wine becoming increasingly popular, the options are endless. Instead of reaching for the tried-and-tested Champagne, venture over to Italy and discover the delicious sparkling wines that this country has to offer.
Though most are familiar with budget-friendly Prosecco, Italy abounds with under-the-radar sparkling wine regions that are fit to ring in the new year. From traditional-method sparklers that act as the country’s answer to France’s famous bubbly, to brand-new regions that offer surprising quality, there are plenty of wines to satisfy curiosity across all styles.
