That the typical dishes and specialties of traditional Italian cuisine appeal to us inhabitants of the Boot is certainly nothing new. What, however, is the specific weight of preferences? What about the most popular recipes? And again, the greediest region (or regions!)? We'll tell you, mantioning also and especially about a real boom in the consumption of pesto, ragù and meatballs, in the world of home delivery.

Meatballs have recorded a 64 % growth in orders, qualifying as the “comfort food par excellence.” Holding the gold medal of consumption on a national scale is mainly the Lazio region, which accounted for 25 % of national consumption between June 2023 and the same month in 2024.

The discourse is similar with regard to meat sauce, actually: in this case the year-on-year increase is 49.9 %; while holding the scepter of the first national consumer is once again Lazio with 23 % of total consumption.

To find a different first place on the podium one must move toward Panzerotti, with Lombardy recording 22 % of total consumption. One last note, confirming an already known trend: the queen of delivery once again remains pizza, with a 22.7 % growth.
