WE ARE RAISING $25,000 FOR CHRISTMAS GIFTS AND ACTIVITIES: Donate
The holidays are a special time for family gatherings. Yet many of our youth do not have a mother, father or siblings to celebrate with. This is especially true for our newest citizens, four Eritrean boys who survived October's tragic shipwrecks off the coast of Lampedusa, Italy in which over 400 refugees and migrants drowned.
BGTI is raising $25,000 to ensure our kids have a joyous holiday! A gift of $250 provides Christmas gifts and two cultural outings for one BGTI citizen. Last year, the kids attended the theater in Rome, the year before they went skiing in the nearby snow-covered hills. Your contribution makes a difference.
The young people at BGTI have experienced the trauma of war, extreme poverty, violence and betrayal. "I am so happy to have my fellow citizens with me at this time of year. Before Girls' Town, I had nobody. Now I have a family and they support me and my dreams," said Marta who fled an abusive and sexually exploitative family situation and has been at Girls' Town for three years.Your gift provides the experiences kids need to grow, learn and rebuild their lives.
Founded in 1945, our global giving community has been privately funded from the outset. Today our supporters include second and third generation donors joined by the current generation of young globally-minded philanthropists. Together, they ensure the future of this independently funded, international and innovative organization. Give $250, $500 or $1,000 and help our kids celebrate like a family.
Mille grazie e buone feste,
