Apply Now: Friends of the USA Pavilion Milano 2015, in partnership with the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business, is accepting applications from American college students to serve as the face of the USA Pavilion at the next world's fair in Milan, Italy. This major event, Expo Milano 2015: Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life, is expected to attract 20-30 million visitors from around the world. Those selected to serve as U.S. student ambassadors at the pavilion will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to represent the United States in Italy at this truly global gathering.

Under the auspices of the U.S. Department of State, the USA Pavilion will showcase American innovation in addressing the challenge of feeding the world's growing population. In addition, the pavilion, with the theme of "American Food 2.0: United to Feed the Planet", will highlight developments in American culinary culture. Student Ambassadors will spend three months in Milan, Italy, working onsite at the USA Pavilion to greet and interact with visitors and dignitaries and support a variety of cultural events.

Student Ambassadors will receive:
Round-trip travel to and from Milan (from selected points of departure)
Entry/working visa and emergency medical insurance
Accommodations at a college dormitory in Milan (double room)
Online and onsite job training, including briefings at the U.S. Consulate General Milan
Pre-paid public transportation card to and from Expo site
Daily stipend of €35 to cover food and incidentals
$1,000 bonus upon successful completion of the program
"Certificate of Completion" issued by USA Pavilion and U.S. Department of State upon successful completion of the program

Key program dates:
Expo Milano 2015 will run from May 1 through October 31, 2015
Student Ambassadors will receive online training in February 2015
Student Ambassadors will serve for a three-month period, with two weeks of onsite training prior to the assignment. Students can apply for one or both periods but can only be selected for one period. The two assignment periods are:
April 20, 2015 - July 31, 2015
July 20, 2015 - October 31, 2015

To apply, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
Must be a U.S. citizen
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must have completed at least one full-year of college-level credit or its equivalent
Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program (recent graduates are also eligible if you completed your degree in 2014 or 2015)
Must be fluent in English
Italian language fluency strongly desirable with additional skills in German, French, Spanish, Russian, Mandarin, or other world languages a plus
Prior international cultural experience and/or living abroad

Notification: Student Ambassadors will be selected and notified on December 15, 2014
