President Obama should award a Presidential Medal of Freedom to former Yankees catcher Yogi Berra, who is turning 90 years old, Rep. Bill Pascrell said Tuesday.
In a letter to Obama, Pascrell recounted Berra's background as the son of Italian immigrants and touted his service in the military, record as a most valuable player and 15-time all-star for the Yankees, and current service "as an ambassador for Athlete Ally, where he champions LGBT rights in sports."
