Attribute to Joseph V. Del Raso, Esq., National Italian American Foundation Chairman (NIAF) and John M. Viola, NIAF President

"On behalf of the National Italian American Foundation Board of Directors, we send our warmest congratulations to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie in his re-election victory, and to Bill de Blasio, who was overwhelmingly elected mayor of New York City.

We wish both Governor Christie and Mayor-elect de Blasio every success as they tackle key issues and challenges facing New Jersey and New York City, two areas of our nation with great concentrations of Italian Americans.

As Italian Americans, they are proud of Italy's rich heritage and culture and have been longtime supporters of NIAF and its mission, and have attended our events.

Governor Christie's leadership and experience are a great testament to his skills and outstanding public service to the citizens of New Jersey and our great nation. He serves as a model to all Americans and Italian Americans in how, by working together, much can be accomplished. We wish him every success in his second term.

Mayor-elect de Blasio, a Brooklyn resident, is the fourth Italian American to hold the office of mayor of New York City.

The Foundation looks forward with great enthusiasm to working with Governor Christie and Mayor-elect de Blasio."
