Last year The US World Herald released a list of the 100 most common Italian last names in America. When the article surfaced in search results, it received more than 1 million reads. Thanks to a growing number of reviews, we’ve expanded the list from 100 to 150. “We have been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and interest of the Italian people,” said Arthur Himler, managing editor of the US World Herald.
“The deeper we dig, the more we can continue to connect Italian-Americans,” Himler added. Guided by expert genealogists and historians, a team of 16 trained staff spent months going through data in order to deliver the updated list. “Russo” is still the most common Italian surname in the U.S., but what are the other 149 surnames?
