As of today, posters of the Year of Italian Culture in the United States will welcome travelers arriving to Washington Dulles International Airport.
"After the initiative "poetry on the bus," which displayed photographs from some of Italy's most celebrated contemporary photographers paired with verses by some of our country's most celebrated poets on Washington's buses, and after a similar initiative which targeted the capital's metro, we wanted to bring Italian culture to another unexpected place, a place of transit - stated the Ambassador of Italy to the United States, Claudio Bisogniero - The idea is for travelers to take part in a "virtual" journey to discover Italy, its beauties, its traditions and its excellences. Such a journey is made possible thanks to more than 200 events being held in over fifty U.S. cities."
