UNICO, Delaware District 1, will sponsor the Second Annual Brian Piccolo Award Ceremony at 5 p.m., Sunday, May 3, at Nicola Pizza on the Avenue in Rehoboth Beach. This award, established in 1977, is given to a local senior athlete of Italian-American heritage who exhibits the character traits modeled by the legendary football star of the Chicago Bears in the late 1960s.

Those character traits are courage, friendship, loyalty, teamwork, dedication, sense of humor and anti-bias. The guest speaker for the evening will be Melissa Cannavo-Marino, host of the Italian Radio Program "Mattinata Musicale," featured on station WILM 1410 and soon to be on WIP on Sunday mornings and on podcast at WILM - Italian Radio.
