It began as a tasty way to celebrate the end of an exhibition, but Greenwich Historical Society's Festa al Fresco has taken on a flavor all its own. The outdoor celebration of cuisine and community returns on Sunday, July 12. "It's become a great way to celebrate local culture and celebrate summer," said Anna Marie Greco, the society's curator of education.
Launched in 2013 at the conclusion of the society's "From Italy to America" exhibition, which followed the arrival of Italian immigrants in the early 20th century to Greenwich to their subsequent influence on the larger community, it was a way for the society to thank those who had contributed memorabilia to help tell the tale.
