Federico Perandin came to the U.S. from Padua, Italy in 2016 and is now bringing the traditional food of his homeland to Westport. Perandin opened Il Pastaficio at 135 Post Road East on Oct. 21, expanding on his other location in Cos Cob. Walking into the market, and soon-to-be restaurant, patrons are greeted with Italian classics, including panettone (even a kind from Dolce & Gabbana), pandori, cannoli and traditional Italian cookies.
Perandin said everything they offer is authentic, making the offerings fresh, daily using ingredients imported from Italy. "We import great flour from Italy," Perandin said. "It's organic so it's very, very different because it has no preservatives inside." Perandin said people will notice a difference with the pasta, as it is more digestible.
