In August 2022, the municipality of Chiaromonte (a village of about 1,700 inhabitants) announced the start of the new project to sell 1 euro houses in the village. The project was set up with the aim of encouraging the rebirth and relaunch of the village, which must necessarily go through repopulation.
The aim of the municipal initiative is the renovation of properties located in the Chiaromonte area, restoring them to a primarily residential function, in order to stem the depopulation phenomenon in the area.
