
The 17th Street Farmers' Market is set to become a hub of Italian culture, when the 10th Annual Original Richmond Italian Street Festival takes over on September 27 and 28.
Proceeds from the festival, which will include food, cultural exhibits, a "Sauce and Gravy" contest and a meatball-eating contest, benefit The Faison School, VCU's Italian Studies Program and the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program. The event begins September 27 and runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and resumes the next day at 11 a.m., finishing up at 6 p.m. 17th Street Farmers' Market, 100 N. 17th St. or richmonditalianfestival.org
