American Consortium Interested In AC Milan Takeover

An American consortium is interested in a takeover of AC Milan, but it will not involve the club's former midfielder David Beckham. The group wants to purchase 51% of shares in the Rossoneri, but current owner Silvio Berlusconi has said that he is only willing to give up 30% for €300 million.

According to Tuttosport, the consortium behind the deal owns the company which manages the Madison Square Garden in New York, and could lead a prominent role in the club's plans for a new stadium. Berlusconi along with representatives from his Fininvest conglomerate have already held negotiations with Thai businessman Bee Taechaubol and will resume talks about the sale of the club after Easter.
