The financial education initiative is back and this year it is open to Italian primary and secondary schools around the world. The 9^th School Award ‘Inventiamo una banconota’ is now launched by Banca d’Italia (National Bank of Italy) and the Italian Ministry of Education.

As in the past editions, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation promotes the initiative to Italian schools abroad (state and state-authorised private schools). The Award aims to engage young people in an interdisciplinary project, which requires students to invent and create sketches of an ‘imaginary’ banknote. For the school year 2021/2022, the theme of the competition is ‘A New Beginning: Restarting through Economics’.
