"Light in the Piazza," one of the most complex musicals to produce, is being performed in Atlanta for the first time. Theatrical Outfit in downtown Atlanta is housing the city's first production of this Italian-American play under Richard Garner's direction as part of its 2015-16 Season of Courage series.
"It is a tender love story," he said of the play that opened April 14. Because some of it is in Italian, it makes it more complicated to put together, said Garner. "Italian scenes and songs do not need translation. The audience will know what is going on," he said.
