Some stereotypes aren't so bad after all. If you need proof, just take a look at the interest generated by Advance coverage of the selling of the Staten Island home used in the iconic 1972 film "The Godfather." The Emerson Hill manse, which served as the estate of Don Vito Corelone in the Oscar-winning flick, including in the famous wedding scene that opens the film, is on the market for $2.89 million.
Even in a borough that has a long and illustrious history as a prime spot for movie and television production (going back to D.W. Griffith's 1915 "Birth of a Nation," parts of which were filmed in Fox Hills), "The Godfather" holds a special place. The movie, for one, is an acclaimed classic of American cinema, not just of the gangster genre, and is frequently cited as one of the greatest films of all time.
