From the Italian ancient tradition of the Great Opera Houses to early New Orleans Jazz set by Nick La Rocca; from Vincente Minnelli's musicals to Louis Prima's swing; The Voice Frank Sinatra to modern Pop-Rock by Madonna, Frank Zappa, Bruce Springsteen and Lady Gaga, hundred of artists with Italian ancestry, without whom American music would not be, as we know it.
Italian blood is the title of a documentary, which desires to tell the story of Italian roots in the history of American music. It is a special journey that starts from Italian classic music, through Neapolitan melodies and refined blues and jazz sounds on to International Pop. If this story is well known to the fans and experts, it's not the same for the large audience, that remember just big names as Caruso and Sinatra, not knowing the great contribution that Italians gave to jazz and musicals, genres that go beyond pop-rock.
