If you regularly attend the Pittston Tomato Festival Parade, or the Columbus Day festivities in downtown Pittston, you’ll likely need no introduction to the Cino Paci Band. But if you haven’t yet had the pleasure of hearing the group play their Italian and American melodies, perhaps you would like to attend their 100th anniversary concert, set for 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26 at the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts in Wilkes-Barre (PA).
The performance is sponsored by UNICO, and admission will be free as people come to enjoy the sounds of clarinets, saxophone, trumpets, trombone, tuba and drums. “I have a roster of 40 men and most of them will play this Sunday,” said Phil Ioanna, who shares leadership of the band with Nick Driscoll.
