There’s no question that a list of classical music’s greatest hits would include several from Vivaldi. But that list likely would also include works by other composers of the Italian Baroque, including Scarlatti, Albinoni and many others. On Saturday, in Princeton, N.J., and Sunday, in Solebury, Bucks County, early music group La Fiocco will present “Vivaldi and Company: Sparkling Instrumental Works in the Italian Style.”
The concert will feature Baroque concertos and sonatas for oboe and strings by Vivaldi, Scarlatti, Albinoni, Stradella, Lotti and Brehy. The La Fiocco ensemble, performing on period instruments, will be under the direction of harpsichordist and founder Lewis Baratz.
