When Candice Guardino performs, the theater can get a little crowded — even though she is the only person onstage. In her autobiographical one-woman show, “Italian Bred,” Guardino channels the members of her idiosyncratic family. She portrays (among others) her parents, Ronald and Barbara; her younger sister, Kelly; and, notably, her paternal grandmother, Frannie.
“I have very colorful people in my life,” said Guardino, a Brooklyn native who was raised in Staten Island. Her grandmother had an especially vivid personality. “When I was six, she spoke to me as if I was 30,” Guardino recalled. “She was crass. She was direct. She had this driving character.”
