Sunday, December 16 | 4:00PM. Kresge Auditorium - W16, 48 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02139. Tickets in advance or at the door: $25, General admission; $15 students and seniors, or pay-as-you-are-able www.cambridgechorus.org Join the Chorus for an afternoon of uplifting music with an Italian flavor as Music Director Pamela Mindell leads us in Puccini’s Messa di Gloria and Pergolesi’s Magnificat.
Puccini’s only Mass setting is everything you would expect from the composer of Tosca and Madame Butterfly – a Romantic operatic tour de force. Pergolesi’s Magnificat is a Baroque gem from the early 1700s. The program concludes with the transcendent final movement from J.S. Bach’s Mass in B Minor, “Dona nobis pacem.” We’ll be inspired as always by our outstanding professional orchestra and critically-acclaimed soloists Fran Rogers, tenor, and Scott Ballantine, baritone.
