The Vito Marcantonio Forum (VMF) will present PANE AMARO/BITTER BREAD, which has been called the first comprehensive depiction on film of the early Italian American experience on the East Coast of the US. The result of over four years of research in the United States and in Italy, this feature-length documentary tracks the social, economic, and political transformation of Italians from immigrant victims of violence and prejudice to respected members of American society.
