The John D. Calandra Italian American Institute of Queens College/CUNY presents a free screening of "Rehearsal for a Sicilian Tragedy" on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m.
Actor and director John Turturro takes audiences on a haunting, intimate journey to his maternal homeland of Sicily while exploring the island's vanishing traditions—the few remaining practitioners of opera dei pupi, the distinctively Sicilian art of puppetry. Post-screening discussion with the director Roman Paska, led by the Calandra Institute's Joseph Sciorra. RSVP encouraged but not required: 212-642-2094 and seating is limited.
