The New York City Premiere of the documentary Sicily: Land of Love and Strife was held on September 12, 2018, for a full house at Goddard Riverside. Because of unexpected building maintenance, the screening was moved from The Bernie Wohl Center to Goddard Riverside. The change, though, did not prevent the crowd from attending this Upper West Side event.

After the screening, filmmaker Mark Spano led a lively panel discussion that included Sicily Aficionada Karen La Rosa and Sicily Scholar Gaetano Cipolla. Sicily: Land of Love and Strife also enjoyed a one-week theatrical run at the historic North Park Theatre in Buffalo, New York, where it was originally screened for one-night-only before a capacity crowd back in June.

The return to Buffalo marked the film’s first theatrical run, which included two shows each day from Friday, September 7, through Thursday, September 13. The film also had a one-night-only screening at Proctors Theatre in Schenectady, New York to mark the Columbus Day Holiday.
