What started out as a simple way for a local musician to share his Italian heritage with the Brevard community two decades ago has morphed into a full-on love letter to Italian folk music. Mike Guggino of the Steep Canyon Rangers band approached the Jordan Street Cafe more than 20 years ago about changing their menu for one evening and doing an “Italian Night” so he could share his love of Italian folk music with Brevard, NC.
The event has since surpassed the small restaurant atmosphere and spilled over into the Parker Concert Hall at the Brevard Music Center. Part of the Parker Concert Hall Fall Series, the annual concert of Italian folk music and classical music on mandolin and guitar will take place Monday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now for $40 from the box office at BMC.
