As part of the 2016 AMSSM Traveling Fellowship program, the President of the Italian Federation of Sports Medicine and Executive Committee Member for the International Sports Medicine Federation, Maurizio Casasco, MD, is serving as this year's International Visiting Fellow.
Dr. Casasco will be presenting as a keynote speaker discussing the importance of establishing pre-participation screenings and prevention programs during this week's 25th AMSSM Annual Meeting in Dallas, TX on Saturday, April 16 from 5:10-5:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Dallas (Downtown) Hotel. According to Dr. Casasco, in Italy, all competitive athletes are required to obtain a "Competitive Sports License" prior to playing their sport, a total of about 8 million people.
