What's up with WTI: Editorial # 102

Ciao from Rome, welcome to the #102 magazine of We the Italians!

First of all we want to thank all of you, recipients of our newsletter: we reached 80,000 subscribers! It's just the beginning, we have to do much better than that, but it's worth celebrating. So, once again: THANKS!! Please spread the word and have your friends who love Italy to subscribe: it's free, and everybody can subscribe to as many newsletters as they want.

Spring has finally come to Rome. We are working for a special event, which will take place here in Rome on June 8: the presentation of Lucia Mauro's movie "Frances Xavier Cabrini: The People’s Saint". Mother Cabrini is the first American saint ever: she was born in Italy, then emigrated to the US, and she is the Patron Saint of Immigrants and Hospital Administrators. We're very happy to organize this event, together with Fondazione Migrantes: Lucia Mauro, the writer and director of the movie, will be with us.

In this issue we publish the last article of our column "The Italian American stars in US sports". In fourteen wonderful episodes, our friend Fausto Batella told us about dozens of Italian American athletes, in several different sports, from the beginning of last century to nowadays. This has been a marvelous voyage for us, learning so much about this important topic in the Italian American experience.  The collaboration with Fausto is not ending here: stay tuned for other articles, very interesting stories worth to be told here.

Last but not least, once again we're happy to say that we're having a blast with the 2017 Yearbook of We the Italians. In the first month we sold four times the copies we sold in the first month of the 2016 Yearbook: so thanks, and please keep buying that, here

We encourage you to join us in our social media presence: Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube!

That’s all for now. So stay tuned, fasten your seat belt and enjoy the ride. The future’s so bright, we gotta wear shades!
