Ciao from Rome, Let's celebrate!! This is the 100th issue of our magazine. I can't believe it! It seems yesterday, and yet it was October 2013, when we had the idea of having articles written for us, in English, regarding some Italian excellences. There was no flipping book magazine back then, the articles were published in a brand new section of our website. The first issue had these columns: "Italian Art", "Italian Fashion", "Italian Food", "Italian Wine", and one called "Italy the Beautiful" that soon would have become "Italian Land and Nature".
Time has passed by, and we have published 1308 articles in our 100 issues. They all are in the same section where we started, here. But we also have 52 issued of the magazine in the flipping book version, here. And here are the 130 authors who have written for us, some of them monthly, many of them just one time: we are very grateful, our community is bigger, stronger and better thanks to all of them.
For our 100th issue, as you can see, we had a tiny restyling of our magazine. We hope you'll like it, while we're sure you'll like the other news about our magazine: starting this issue, those of you who want to print it and have it shipped will be able to do it. Just go on this page and follow the instructions. This is something that many of you asked us, and we're glad and happy that from now on you'll be able to do it.
Another great news is that our fourth book is available! As previously told, every year we'll publish a yearbook with the interviews published in the year before, both in English and in Italian. The book is available here.
In 2017 we interviewed 26 leaders, 26 friends, 26 people who gave us 26 different views about 23 different topics of the relation between Italy and the US. History, geography, science, art, emigration, fashion, sport, politics, literature, education, heritage, honor, religion, family and Christopher Columbus: in this yearbook you will find all these topics, and much more.
Among our guests we've had 18 men and 8 women: we had 21 single interviews, one double interview and a triple one. 5 of our guests live in Italy, 21 in the US. All of them share the love for both Italy and the US. So you will find 23 interviews, each of them in two versions, in Italian and in English. We want to thank all the interviewees that made this possible.
The third great news is about Italian elections. We decided to dedicate a page that will host the list of all those who are running to represent the Italians who live in North and Central America. Here you can find their names, photos and a link for everyone of them, divided per the parties they run with: you have 29 candidates for the Camera dei Deputati and 13 for the Senato della Repubblica. We also sent them five questions, and we'll publish the answers they will send us as soon as we receive them. Please, if you are interested in who will represent in the next Italian Parliament the Italian community in the US, visit the page and come back often, so you'll find more and more answers and you'll get to know better those who are running. We the Italians is of course impartial, we don't side, we just provide this service and look forward to work with those who will win, in the best interest of Italy and of the Italians community in the US.
We encourage you to join us in our social media presence: Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube!
That’s all for now. So stay tuned, fasten your seat belt and enjoy the ride. The future’s so bright, we gotta wear shades!
