Six stories of ordinary separation, one question: What happened to Italy? Emergency Exit (2014, 66 min, in Italian with English subtitles) is a road movie from Vienna to London, from Paris to Tenerife, from Belgium to New York. After many trips, meetings, and interviews, the documentary director Brunella Filì discovers a motley fresco of young Italians abroad. The film explores their motivations for leaving Italy, life as an immigrant in a new culture and above all their desire for a better future.
