Returning in 2016 to the S. 9th Street Italian Market Festival where it was created in 2009, the John Marzano Half Ball Tournament marks its eighth anniversary with a lineup of the city's best players at the city's favorite street game. Play begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 21st. Players will enjoy the competition when they're not sampling the food and entertainment of the S. 9th Street Italian Market Festival.

Proceeds from the event (each team contributes $125) support youth baseball through the "John Marzano Wood Bat Scout League". Founded by Steve Koplove; attorney and friend of John Marzano, and the father of former major leaguer Steve Koplove and current Phillies first round draft pick Kenny Koplove. Enrollment in the Tournament is easy.
